About This Calculator

This is a comprehensive tool designed for clinical lab professionals to perform serial dilution calculations accurately. It helps avoid common errors by providing multiple calculation modes and extensive unit support.

You can switch between three modes based on your starting information:

BY Ratio: The default mode. Enter a common lab ratio (e.g., 1:10) and a desired final volume to get the precise sample and diluent volumes.
FROM Volumes: Use this when you already know the sample and diluent volumes and need to find the resulting dilution factor and ratio.
FOR Target Dilution: Enter a specific dilution factor (e.g., 100) and a final volume to calculate the required volumes.

The calculator supports a wide range of concentration (Molar, mass, activity, %) and volume (L to pL) units. It automatically handles conversions when you switch between units of the same type (e.g., U/mL to mU/mL).
